Chanel unveils new flacon for Les Extraits collection, along with 1957 scent

Chanel has a new bottle for its Les Extraits collection. The packaging launched in June 2026, along with 1957, the latest addition to the fragrance range. A purse spray format also joins the novelties.

French luxury brand Chanel has introduced a new flacon for its Les Extraits collection. The faceted bottle conserves the aesthetic of the original shape: clear glass, sharp lines and a white label.

The bottle is produced by France’s Waltersperger on the glassmaker’s semi-automatic machines in Normandy. This enabled production of perfectly flat faces and harmonious internal glass distribution, with straight columns and the “marloquette” inverted smile base, the supplier tells Formes de Luxe. Waltersperger also produced the glass cap with its well-defined facets. Both packaging components are hand-polished on the supplier’s cutting/polishing machines for a flawless surface finish and an enhanced shine.

The bottle is sealed using the baudruchage technique that calls for a pearl-cotton thread and a wax seal. A thread-cutter is used to open the flacon, which does not have a pump and is designed to be applied directly to pulse points.

1957: A newcomer to Chanel’s Les Extraits

Chanel’s Les Extraits collection consists of 11 scents: 1932, 1957, Beige, Bois des Îles, Coromandel, Cuir de Russie, Gardenia, Jersey, N22, N°5 and Sycomore. The latest to join the collection is 1957, which launched in June 2026. It is named after the year that Gabrielle Chanel won the accolade of ’most influential fashion designer of the 20th century’ at the Neiman Marcus Awards in Dallas, Texas and is also a nod to her date of birth (the 19th) and 57th Street in Manhattan, home of Chanel’s biggest boutique in the United States. Chanel house perfumer Olivier Polge composed 1957, which blends notes of white musk, orange blossom, iris pallida, neroli, sandalwood and vetiver.

In addition to the collection’s new flacon and 1957 scent, Chanel is rolling out a purse spray for the line for the first time.

Les Extraits 1957 retails at €380 for 30ml. The purse spray coffret containing three 6.5ml flacons costs €550, while a 6.5ml refill is priced at €125.
